WikiCon 2018. Welcome to Switzerland!

WikiCon 2018 comes to Switzerland! WikiCon is the annual gathering of active contributors to the German-speaking Wikipedia and its sister projects. Furthermore it is the place to be, if you are interested in Free Knowledge!

Last week Tuesday (Jan. 23rd) our colleagues from Wikimedia Deutschland, the organisers of WikiCon, came to Switzerland in the aim of kicking off the event. Throughout a meeting in Wallisellen, first information about the status quo was shared, working groups were formed and first tasks assigned.

Finding the ideal event location was another important point. Different locations in Fiesch, Baden, Winterthur and St. Gallen have been visited. Thanks to the professional organisations on site and the availability of several dates per location, the WikiCon organisers are now spoiled for choice.

Even though the exact location and date have not yet been decided upon, one thing remains for sure: The WikiCon 2018 will be as exciting as always and we are all looking forward to make best use of WikiCon’s open atmosphere to collaboratively work on new ideas and kick-off interesting discussions.

All further information about the WikiCon 2018 in Switzerland will of course be published as soon as possible on the event page itself, which is to be found here ->

We are looking forward to meeting you this autumn in Switzerland!
